Non-union employees working in Canada will be paid holiday pay according to the Employment Standards Act calculations.

  • ProHire will automatically calculate the Public holiday pay or non-union “Stat Holiday” according to Employment Standards Act guidelines when the user selects “Stat Holiday Worked” or “Stat Holiday Not Worked” from the timecard drop down.
  • Calculations include a look-back period of 4 weeks of regular wages divided by 20 to arrive at the holiday pay using the prorating formula.
  • Based on the region indicated, the system will calculate the additional premium for hours worked during the holiday.
